Wood Frame: Use the nails provided. Take off the gold/silver top before installing to allow for space. (Install with care, this is a fragile glass item.)
○ Hold the mezuzah up to the door frame.
○ Carefully mark both holes with a thin tip, writing utensil, or sharpened pencil.
○ Set the mezuzah aside; align your nail with the hole and gently hammer it into the frame just enough to make a small incision in the surface of your door frame. Repeat for both holes.
○ Very gently hammer the nails one at a time. Stop hammering as soon as the nail reached close to the surface of the mezuzah.
Metal Frame: use double-sided tape.
Before affixing the mezuzah to the doorpost, the following blessing should be recited: “Barukh atah Adonai, Eloheinu, melekh ha'olam” Blessed are you, Lord, our God, sovereign of the universe “asher kidishanu b'mitz'votav v'tzivanu lik'bo'a m'zuzah”
Who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to affix a mezuzah
The mezuzah should then be affixed to the upper third of the doorpost on the right side as one enters the house or room. If the doorpost is wide enough to permit, the mezuzah should be tilted with the upper part slanting inward toward the house or room.
